Vegas BABY!!!

Vegas market was more than I could have ever have expected. As some of you know, I am not a HUGE fan of Vegas. I like to sleep and I don't like the smell of smoke. So for me Vegas is not the ideal location for a market. All that aside I DO LOVE a good market and you can't beat the ABC Kids Expo. There is over 1,000,000 square feet of vendor space. That is 1,00,00 square feet of shopping. I love looking at all the new products. I am always amazed of the innovative ideas that we find. It is also an opportunity to restock all of our stores.

So the next couple of post I make will be to introduce you to new products I have found as well as reacquaint you with ones that I still LOVE! All my girls wanted from Vegas was a green m&m stuffy and for me to get a picture with the REAL girly m&m

Vegas isn't all work for us. We do have some amazing Manufactures that throw some great parties. We really appreciate their generosity. The top picture is me with our friends from Baby's 1st in Houston. Great friends and Great retailer. We have so much fun together but we also get alot of great ideas from each other.

Speaking of great ideas the next picture is of our Product Meeting for NINFRA. This is held the morning of the 3rd day of the show. All the NINFRA members get together and discuss products we have found at the market that are either new and we like them or that we have already tried and they are selling well. This is my favorite meeting of the year. It is like having 100 personal shopper.

Last day of the Show Doug, Dave, and Gene finish the show with a couple of laps on the golf carts. Yes the show is SO LARGE that there are golf carts to get you from one end to the other.
Thanks ABC the show was GREAT

Family Traditions

Santa has already found his way to StorkLand and Kid's Too to drop off his Special Helpers. The Elf on the Shelf is a tradition that every family needs.
When Shad and I got married we discussed starting our own family traditions. We knew that we wanted to make each holiday memorable for both us and our future children.
Well the Elf on the Shelf certainly helped us do just that. Our elf's name is Guy. He came to live with us about 3 years ago. When Emma was 2 and Alex was 9. We read his special story which explained that he had come to live with us as Santa's special helper. Each evening he would magically fly home and tell Santa how our day had gone and then return. Basically give a naughty or nice report on each of us. Upon his return Guy would find a new hiding spot to watch us for the next day. The book also instructed us to name our elf. And so we introduced Guy to our family.
Each year on Thanksgiving Guy magically appears some where in our home and he stays until Christmas Eve when Santa carries him home until it is time for him to come again.
I can't tell you how effective this has been with our kids. I had no idea when I bought this that Guy would make such a great impression on my girls. Each morning they would scramble to see who could find him first and if we ever had a spat, tantrum, and pout brewing all it took was one mention of Guy and things immediately settled down. They couldn't stand the thought of Guy having to tell Santa they had been naughty. We have told so many of our friends about the Elf on the Shelf, some of their Elf's make an appearance as early as October. That is if their children are especially challenging.
We have enjoyed wonderful memories and had some great laughs with Guy. Everyone needs an Elf in their family. This is a great and unique Baby Gift, Teacher Gift, or Birthday Present. I always try to get something memorable, useful and different. This is my gift of choice. Come in and start your memories today.

I reload all the stores with our amazing selection of gifts, bedding, furniture, and unique items you can only find at StorkLand. Then this is also where I find all my GREATS....like the Bumbo, NapNanny, Itzbeen, Inchbug, Razbaby,etc....I can't wait to see what I find this year. I will keep you posted!!! ABC show here we come.

Great Customer...Great Friend

This is one of my sweet friends little boys. She is a faithful StorkLand customer and when she saw my Henry on Facebook in this outfit she came in to get it for her baby boy's photo shoot. (I must also mention this is my photographer as well. She has captured my memories for 5 years now Check her out.)
This outfit is by ZaZa. ZaZa is a staple at StorkLand. We have carried the line since it's first season and developed a HUGE following. Usually she does only girl clothes but ZaZa recently had a baby boy and now we are graced by her boy's collections. ZaZa uses the most unusual fabrics that are so wearable. By wearable I mean soft and durable. Her color's can't be beat and they are ALL WASH AND WEAR!!! What more can a mama ask for. Come in to Wichita Falls or Tyler to check ZaZa out. For my OKC customers if you wanna taste just let me know and we will bring it to you.
